Low Water Pressure And Water Damage

Low water pressure is a sign of possible water damage.

Low water pressure is a sign of possible water damage.

Believe it or not, low water pressure can mean water damage.  It can also mean other things – such as a faucet clogged with mineral deposits, hair, or other debris.  (Fill a sandwich or freezer bag with vinegar and tie it around your faucet overnight to clear up this issue!)  Or perhaps your water pressure valve isn’t as tight as you would like.  These are easily fixable problems that can cause low water pressure.  However, it can also mean a burst pipe or other plumbing issue causing water damage in areas you may not yet be aware of..  This is also a sign of frozen pipes when weather is very cold.

If you’re unable to determine the source of low water pressure, call a plumber to help – the sooner, the better.  Also, turn your main water supply off while you are waiting for the plumber to arrive.  This will help immensely if you do have a broken pipe or other water damage issue going on since it will stop more water from coming in to add to situation that is potentially already messy!

Contact our water restoration services if your plumber determines water damage has occurred from a broken pipe or any other issue.  Don’t allow water to stand – even if it’s not in an area that seems to be causing real damage like behind walls or under floors.  It can cause structural damage, and mold can start to grow within 48-72 hours of finding a moist, warm area.  Immediate cleanup will prevent the growth of mold, mildew, and other microbes that can be harmful to your health.

Our highly skilled techs extract the water then dry the area with heavy duty fans and dehumidifiers.  This water mitigation process is essential to restore your home to its pre-loss state.  Damage can then be assessed and determinations can be made on what can be saved and what needs to be replaced.  We will work with your insurance company, too, so the transition for you is as smooth as possible.

Don’t ignore low water pressure!  It can mean trouble is lurking somewhere!
