As hard as American’s work everyone deserves a little time off once in a while. When traveling it is easy to get caught up in the excitement of getting away from home however, it is important to make sure you do not come from paradise to a disaster site. When leaving your home for a long amount of time during the colder seasons it is common to lower the thermostat. Lowering the temperature on your thermostat not only conserves energy but it also helps keep your heating bill down in return saving you money. To prevent busting pipes in your home it is a good idea to never set your thermostat any lower than 60 degrees Fahrenheit. This will keep pipes from freezing and you will still be able to save money on your heating bill at the same time. Overall, it is important to keep in mind that if you try to save money on your heating bill while going on vacation you can actually end up costing yourself more money if you come home to water damages.
