Flooded Basement 1-888-443-3110
Flooded basement clean-up is going to be one of the hardest things to look at but if you have the right tools for this job it can become a pretty easy task that can be done in a few hours. Major flooding is by no question one of the worst disasters that can come upon your home. This type of water can affect your whole house especially if it gets down to your basement and a lot too.
If you basement was furnished then this task might get bit harder but bit still has to be done and so you need to know how to do it. Now you can always call in the Experts and have them get all the water out and clean the place and have it looking like new. But if for some reason you need to or want to do it yourself you can do so successfully just like how they would get it done. You would need to borrow or rent a sump pump. Then go ahead and drain the basement of all the water you can. When you're done you can take a mop and use it to mop up the water that could be taken away by the pump and squeeze that into a bucket.
Afterward you can get some fans and the bigger the better. Use these fans to dry out the basement. This drying process might take up to 24 hours to be completed. This is necessary though to prevent moisture from creating molds and other microorganisms, which can spread bacteria quickly. Get rid of items that are spoilt or wet from the basement. Anything that cannot be thoroughly cleaned should be discarded. Anything such as books boxes and other materials that the water has soaked in should be thrown away. For the other stuff you can just bring them outside and hose them down with some fresh and bleach water and leave them in the sun for a few hours.
All the walls and the floor that was covered in the water or got touched by the water should be cleaned with 1 cup of bleach to 5 gallons of water. Wear rubber gloves and other protective materials when cleaning out the flooded basement also. Afterwards you will need to run the fans again to get rid of the moisture that you would have created now. The basement should be dry with another 24 hours and then it should be clean and safe again
Basement water damage can be cleaned up and dealt with in one to two days. If the task looks as if it is too much for you then call a professional company and they will take care of everything for you. Whichever way you go make sure your basement doesn't stay wet and dirty since that will be a death-trap beneath your home. Clean out the bacteria and prevent mold and other germs from growing.
